Market 707: Toronto’s First Shipping Container Market

Today I visited the 1❤T.O. shop at Bathurst and Dundas to pick up some of their shirts. The stall is located at Market 707, Toronto’s first outdoor shipping container market run by Scadding Court Community Centre. Opened in 2011, the market is known for its variety of international street foods offered by vendors who prepare their specialties inside refurbished shipping containers. It’s a great place to explore and try different cuisines.

Here you have Monforte Dairy, where they expertly pressed the freshest sheep’s milk cheese between bread from St. John’s Bakery into delicious grilled sandwiches.

Here are pieces of candied bacon from House of Jaffle (Update- House of Jaffle has permanently closed.)

This delightful outdoor market also features Filipino, Korean, South American, North African and North Indian street foods. Another bonus of Market 707 is that it’s right by Alexandra Park, which has great playgrounds, a huge swimming pool and a skating rink that turns into a skateboard park in the summer.

Market 707, part of the Scadding Court Urban Markets program, is located at Bathurst and Dundas in downtown Toronto in front of Scadding Court’s Community Centre. 707 Dundas St W, Toronto.
