Café Diplomatico in Little Italy

Last night, five girls from all over the city needed an easy place to meet for dinner. That place was Café Diplomatico. Dependable Diplomatico is like an old friend who has been around forever, just waiting for you on College with good white wine and filling and flavourful antipasto plates. Diplomatico, ti voglio bene!

Café Diplomatico, also fondly known as Soccer Central, or “The Dip”, is a Toronto institution that has been a beloved neighbourhood staple for over 50 years. Located in the heart of Little Italy, this cozy and welcoming cafe is known for its authentic Italian fare, laid-back atmosphere, and friendly staff. And it’s definitely the place to go to watch important soccer matches. During World Cup soccer games, Café Diplomatico and the surrounding College Street area transform into a lively hub of excitement and energy. Fans of all ages and nationalities gather together to cheer on their favorite teams, filling the cafe and spilling out onto the street, creating a festive and bustling atmosphere. The sound of cheering and chanting (and honking) can be heard throughout the neighbourhood, and the vibrant energy of the World Cup, combined with the warm hospitality of Café Diplomatico and the Little Italy neighbourhood, make for an unforgettable experience that brings people together from all walks of life.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso at the bar, settling in for a hearty meal with friends, or enjoying the bustling patio during the warmer months, The Dip is always a great choice. Café Diplomatico is located near Bathurst and College and is open daily, Monday-Wednesday from 8:00am-1:00am, Thursday-Saturday from 8:00am-2:00am and Sunday 8:00am-12:00am. 594 College St., Toronto.
