There aren’t many chances in life to see and touch a sculpture created by a living legend. That is why all I wanted for my birthday was to see Ai Weiwei’s Forever Bicycles. It was unveiled for Nuit Blanche and is still on display in Nathan Phillips Square (Après Nuit!). It is absolutely beautiful. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

This is a new edition of Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei’s three-dimensional structure of 3,144 interconnected bicycles. The way they are lit is stunning to look at both from a distance and up close. There was something magical about the way we came up from the parking garage into the huge space of the square, and they illuminated the night.

You can visit these beautiful bicycles any time until October 27th at Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen Street West at Bay Street. But… I recommend going after the sun sets.
