India 360 in Scarborough

American economist Tyler Cowen recently made a bold declaration about the dining scene in Scarborough. After eating at four different restaurants in the area, he concluded that

“Scarborough is the best ethnic food suburb I have seen in my life, ever, and by an order of magnitude.”

Working on the border of Scarborough and Markham means having an amazing variety of lunch spots to choose from. I don’t know if India 360 was one of the spots Cowen tried out, but to me it is a perfect example of why it’s time we all start dining more east of the DVP.

I went with my coworkers to India 360 for lunch after being continually enticed by a colleague’s deliciously fragrant butter chicken. We were blown away by the buffet which offered an excellent selection of both vegetarian and non-veg options.

We tried a little bit of everything including chicken vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, butter chicken and veggie masala. One of my colleagues had never eaten Indian cuisine before and he loved it. Here is his plate which he cleaned except for one tiny little bone.

The food was spicy and delicious and the service was great; the owners are so proud of their lovely restaurant and we can’t wait to go back. 2721 Markham Road.
