The Best Calcium Supplements for Preventing Osteoporosis

My grandma had osteoporosis, and so does my mom. The fact of my inevitable deteriorating bone tissue has been haunting me like a hunched-over skeleton for awhile, so I decided it was finally time to research calcium supplements, buy them, and start taking them every day. Adults between 19-50 years of age need 1,000 mg of calcium daily. I don’t eat nearly enough calcium-rich foods to get the adequate calcium intake to slow my bone loss, so I am happy to have now found Canadian-made Sisu Calcium & Magnesium tablets with D2 (Sisu is based in British Columbia.)

They contain calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D, and are dairy, wheat, gluten free, with no added sugars. Because they contain a high dose of calcium citrate and magnesium, you need fewer pills to supplement your calcium intake. They contain vegetarian vitamin D2 to bring on the calcium absorption, which is crucial- you can take all the calcium tablets you want but if your body isn’t absorbing them, you are wasting your time and money.

I purchase my vitamins and supplements from Well.ca, a Canadian health and wellness online store that offers free delivery in the GTA for order over $49.
