Stars at Wintersong Music Festival

I had one of my favourite experiences ever seeing my favourite band perform last night. Stars were the headliners this year for Wintersong, a free music festival north of Toronto in Stouffville. They are always brilliant and last night seemed extra special. The venue was small, and it felt like we were dancing with them at a party.

The performance space at Spring Lakes Golf Course was perfect for an intimate concert. Torq and Amy were heavenly as always. I loved when Amy dedicated “Fixed” to the music industry.

The Rouge River Brewery in Markham collaborated with Wintersong to create Frost Monster Pilsner, a signature beer for the two-day event.

Before the concert we ate at a terrific local restaurant, The Kings Landing on Main Street.

Wintersong Music Festival is an annual event with multiple venues in Stouffville hosting free live music from over 100 bands. There are shuttles available from Toronto if you don’t drive. It’s free but the headliner performances are ticketed so you need to reserve those concerts in advance; sign up for updates at the Wintersong website. This year Men Without Hats also performed, along with Ombiigizi and Dan Mangan.
