A day late here because of Ontario’s Family Day weekend, but still some amazing moments on the ice and on social media to tell you about.
First the Leafs and THE TRADE! Ryan O’Reilly and Noel Acciari made an immediate impact with Ryan getting an assist and Noel getting a goal the next night. The team is definitely better with both of them on it. Also, on a team where William Nylander showed up in a pink suit to a game a week ago, this arrival in the Canadian tuxedo was just awesome.
Unfortunately, while they won Saturday night the Leafs lost a very winnable game the next day against the Black Hawks.
MARLIES
Because this was Family Day the Marlies played at Scotiabank Arena. They won, but had to make some adjustments to the bigger facility. Including this hilarious distance covered by Joseph Blandisi after the warm-up!
TORONTO SIX
THE 6 lost their last game but remained in second place in the PHF and the league announced the PHF best of three semilfinal series will be hosted in Toronto at the Mattamy Athletic Centre starting March 17th. The finals will be at a neutral site on March 26th. So you can get some early playoff hockey in before the Leafs and Marlies make a run!
