Brueckner Rhododendron Garden in Mississauga

Brueckner Rhododendron Garden is home to one of the largest publicly owned collections of rhododendrons in Canada. Situated on the north shore of Lake Ontario, the garden is lovely to visit all year round but the floral displays are at their most stunning in May and June.

Located in Mississauga, just west of Toronto, Brueckner Rhododendron Garden thrives in a unique microclimate with the support of massive white pines. The late Dr. Joseph Brueckner, an acclaimed rhododendron expert and hybridizer, generously donated over 800 azaleas and rhododendrons from his private collection. These plants, including his prized hybrids, form a rare and valuable collection in the garden. Dr. Brueckner’s hybrids enjoy a stellar reputation and widespread propagation in North America and various European countries, including England’s renowned Exbury Gardens.

Brueckner Rhododendron Garden has a stunning view of Lake Ontario, with its park stretching to the waterfront. This is one of my favourite spots in the summertime.

You can visit the garden year round, and it is open daily from dawn until 11pm. 660 Lakeshore Rd West, Mississauga, Ontario.
