The last time I wrote about Craig’s Cookies it was shortly after they opened their first location in Parkdale, which was a little further west on Queen closer to Roncesvalles. That shop relocated in 2021 to a larger location at 1332 Queen Street West, on the north side.

Craig’s has a few more locations now throughout the city, and this beloved queer-owned business really has captured the hearts of its loyal customers. It started in the 1980s in St. John’s Newfoundland, with Craig and his mom baking cookies for their loved ones. Today, Craig’s Cookies is a go-to when you want to indulge in a really delicious cookie, and there’s something truly special about the joyful energy you feel when you step into Craig’s.

This June, if you buy the Ruby Red Cookie, all proceeds go to Friends of Ruby, a welcoming space that provides support to two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and all gender non-conforming youth (aged 16-29) by providing free counselling, housing and social services.

I love their amazing Pride cookies which are bursting with little M&Ms, and then my second choice is the Peppermint Patty, followed by the Crunchie, Mr. Big and Twix bar cookies. My favourite cookies are the ones with chocolate bars in them. Craig’s personal favourite of all his 100 flavours is shortbread.
