The mother-daughter team that run this Kensington Market vintage store have created the most gorgeous space that is so joyful for fashion lovers- especially if you love vibrant colours and fabulous dresses. Ashlene Roberts opened Space Vintage twenty years ago in 2003 and now co-owns it with her daughter Natasha, who grew up in the store. This duo is so stylish and Natasha and I share the same love of dresses- we never wear pants.

Walking into Space Vintage always feels as if I’m stepping into someone’s walk-in closet with terrific style, like Madonna or Gwen Stefani. I feel all these fashion vibes- chic, unique, retro, pretty and punk rock hanging from rack after rack.
Some of the best vintage shops in Toronto are located here on Kensington Avenue, in the heart of Kensington Market. In the summertime it’s especially lovely to hit this vintage strip because there are lots of great finds on display outside the stores.
If you’re looking for the perfect dress for a special event and need some styling advice, Space Vintage will curate a selection of pieces exclusively for you to choose from. There is no additional charge for this service. Fittings are available by appointment only at their Queen West location.
